[Special Event] A Jubilee of Hope: Sealing the Time Capsule

Looking Forward to the Unveiling of the College of Management’s Time Capsule in 2050

In celebration of Fu Jen Catholic University’s 100th anniversary in 2025, President Yi-Chen Lan initiated the "Glorious Century, One Hundred Million" Sustainable Development Fund, personally donating NT$1 million annually for four consecutive years, totaling NT$4 million. His generous contribution has inspired the enthusiastic participation of 100 alumni, each contributing to this meaningful cause.

The Centennial Time Capsule is designed as a symbol of Fu Jen Catholic University’s core mission in education. Its layered pages represent the accumulation and transmission of knowledge, with the Fu Jen emblem placed at the center. Surrounding it, the names of 100 donating alumni are engraved, radiating outward like a constellation of stars, symbolizing their deep affection for their alma mater and the collective pride they share.

The College of Management has carefully selected five symbolic items that embody its core values and the spirit of the times, placing them into the time capsule. Dean Mei-Chu Huang shared the significance of these chosen items:

***  A crystal paperweight engraved with the College of Management’s logo, symbolizing the solid foundation of management knowledge.

***  A USB drive, representing technological innovation throughout history.

***  A coaster featuring Fu Jen’s iconic architecture, preserving cherished memories of the campus.

***  An academic medal, commemorating the achievements and honors of faculty and students.

***  A rice grain-shaped cup, serving as a reminder that the seeds of knowledge, once sown, will cultivate limitless hope for the future.

Through these items, Dean Huang hopes to preserve and pass down the spirit and vision of the College of Management to future generations.

Adjacent to the time capsule stands the sculpture "Bright Moon" by Fu Jen’s distinguished alumnus Yang Ying-Feng. This artwork, an expression of deep longing for one’s mother, now sits beside the time capsule—a profound testament to alumni’s enduring love and gratitude for their alma mater, creating a beautiful interplay between past and future.

The time capsule will be opened for the first time in 2050, marking a historic moment for the College of Management. We eagerly look forward to witnessing this unveiling together, as we reconnect with the legacy left behind by this generation.
