[International Collaboration]

UM-Flint SOM Associate Dean Gregory Laurence Visited the College of Management, Fu Jen Catholic University

Dr. Gregory Laurence, the Associate Dean from the School of Management at the University of Michigan Flint, visited the College of Management at Fu Jen Catholic University on Nov. 24th morning. Dean Bruce Lee, Associate Dean Hsiao-Yun Huang, imMBA Program Director Kai-Ping Huang, and Associate Dean Laurence discussed the influence that COVID-19 in the past 3 years has caused in classroom dynamics and the interactions between professors and students. They also exchanged future planning and development ideas. As souvenirs for him to take away, we prepared the pineapple cake and pomelo/kumquat cake from Fu Jen Catholic University’s Social Corporate Store-A Seed of Grain.

Later we review the 1+1 Double MBA degree agreement and the 4+1 Bridge Program agreement. The execution process of two agreements, English proficiency requirement, and the course structures are discussed then.

After the review of agreements, Dr. Laurence gave a lecture in the Global Branding Management class with a topic: Negotiation in Global Brand Management. He  involved students to respond to questions and encourage interactions by giving the souvenirs he brought from UM-Flint such as pens, stickers, and flyers. Students actively participated in the discussions.

The current collaborations we have with UM-Flint are as follows:

[4+1 Bridege Program]

Students take master level courses in the 4th year. After getting the admission offer, they can attend UM-Flint to complete their master studies in the 5th year.

[1+1 Double Degree MBA Program]

Students study one year in the imMBA program and travel to UM-Flint to study in the second year. If the students meet the graduation requirements from both universities, they can receive 2 MBAs. The participating students only pay in-state tuition rate when they study at the UM-Flint. They can also apply for scholarships.

The College of Management continuously works on international collaborations which provides students multiple learning and exchange opportunities. We look forward to more future collaborations between 2 universities.
