The 11th New Taipei City Medical Public Service Awards ceremony was held on November 5 at the City Hall's 603 Auditorium. This year, 62 outstanding doctors, medical personnel, and institutions were nominated across various award categories. After rigorous and intense discussions during the two-stage review process by the judging committee, which included preliminary and final evaluations, 25 exceptional individuals and 4 hospitals emerged as winners.
Dr. Fan Hsiu-Ping, a physician at Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital, was honored with the Special Contribution Award for his efforts in promoting child-friendly healthcare. He established a 24-hour pediatric emergency department and founded the Child and Adolescent Protection and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Center. Quoting Mother Teresa, Dr. Fan said, "We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love." Through his expertise, he aims to alleviate children's pain and fear of hospitals.
Dr. Fan has devoted himself tirelessly to advancing pediatric emergency care and holistic child and adolescent protection. He strives to view the world through the eyes of children, creating a safer and warmer environment for them.
