2024 College of Management Overseas Visits to the U.S. West Coast, Vietnam, and Ryukyu
"Scenery is outside the door; knowledge shouldn't be confined to the classroom." To gain new insights and knowledge, the College of Management has organized international visits for nearly 20 years. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, trips to the U.S. West Coast, Vietnam, and Ryukyu are scheduled from March to April 2024 for overseas exchange and learning.
The U.S. West Coast trip, led by Professors Lin Yanting and Zheng Jialiang, kicked off in late March. The accounting department organized the visit to Los Angeles, including stops at UCLA and UC Riverside. The group also visited notable Taiwanese companies, YungShin Pharm and PlexBio, and had a gathering with alumni living in the U.S.
The Vietnam trip, organized by the Department of Information Management and led by Professor Huang Zhirong, visited Ho Chi Minh City to tour Hung Vuong University, Van Lang University, and the largest paper mill in Vietnam, CTY GIAY BINH MINH.
The International MBA and International Entrepreneurship MBA programs arranged a professional visit to Okinawa. Led by Professors Liu Shangjia and Huang Kaiping, the group visited Okinawa International University, the Okinawa City Hall, and the Okinawa Cultural and Creative Incubation Center to learn about Japanese entrepreneurship support and sustainable innovation practices.
The main goal of these overseas visits is to broaden the horizons of both faculty and students through experiential learning. By traveling and learning together, undergraduate, master’s, and executive master’s students build long-lasting friendships and rich experiences.
